It's also kind of hard to tell when a message ends and another one begins. My "Post Subject" info (subject, date & time) look like they're part of the previous message's trailer (Edit & Quote buttons, etc.).

My name, "details", avatar, join date, location, and post count are also hard up against the left margin (which is fine), but so's the message text. Lots of blank space to the right. That's just a little odd.

Good job, Dean!

What are you viewing the forum on? It looks fine on my PC with Windows.

Firefox (latest) on XP. Seems to be about the same on the same version of Firefox under Vista.

LOL, I had to check and make sure I had come to the right site... I would say the new layout isn't good and isn't bad. It's just different. Meh, I'll adjust.

Execept for the quote box thing, that is confusing.

Quote box, quote box. quote box.... Is anybody out there????? Can any body hear me?????? Quote box, we need quote boxes.

Plus the other fixes that are needed.

If you paid for this, you did not get what you paid for.

If you got it for free, then pay someone to fix it.

Please!!!!!!

COL:

AFAIK, we paid for the software, but Dean's doing the rest of it for us gratis.

Just be glad I didn't do it :D....

Seems to me that everything we need is fixable, but the internals are in such a holy mess (from the supplier, not Dean) that finding the right buttons to push is only slightly less difficult than searching for the Lost Ark.

As a dinosaur, I'm proficient in RPGII and RPGII on terminal (rather than card) oriented systems, and DOS Clipper (a version of dBase). In addition, a thing called "FiveWin" that turns Clipper into Windows apps by substituting "C" code for things like screen handling.

The RPG stuff is practically "steam computing", but FiveWin is kind of interesting. A guy in Spain found a way to replace internal code for screen and keyboard handling with "C" routines that use Windows' interface, and look like Windows. Really slick except that the whole thing is a little obscure, and once when I asked him for some advice, he sent me some "C" code to include in what I was doing. That part was great, but not everybody had a "C" compiler.... (I did.) Another time, somebody else asked him for assistance, and his response was that he didn't have time to teach us "C"....

If you're still awake ( :D ), please bear with us.

Regards,

Stu

I haven't heard anything since I emailed Dean a week or so ago. Probably busy with something else and I'm sure they will get to it eventually.

I replied with a quote the other day and changed the quoted part to italic. May be good enough temporarily.
