Post subject: Guess DeWine has't heard of FASTER?

COLUMBUS— Attorney General Mike DeWine announced a partnership with the NRA to bring their National School Shield Security Assessor Training program to schools in Ohio. The first training was held on Oct. 24 and 25th in Wellston, School personnel, school resource officers, and law enforcement officers representing more than 20 Ohio school districts committed to attend.

The Shield program is more broad and doesn't seem to focus on staff fighting back against an active shooter. More about prevention and awareness.

Dewine included a couple of FASTER schools in this program. School shield mainly provides schools with a list of recommended safety improvements. They just seem to not have the grants the schools need to implement the changes. Unless something has changed school shield seems to benefit the nra consultants most.

We have invited nra and David Keene specifically to every faster class for two years and heard nothing beyond one email from his administrator.
