Hi all,

I'm Skip, mod of the "Gun Chat" forum. Live near Akron.

Ex cop, ex military (Army, CAV), 1911 afficionado, cowboy action shooter, and possibly the only mod who doesn't own a black rifle!

I'm married, 2 grown daughters, one grandson whom I worship. Life NRA member, christian/conservative, ardent 2A supporter, and aircraft mechanic/ inspector. Also big into horses, cats and Mitch, my Jack Russell (ask Stu...).

Feel free to ask anything. If I don't know, I can refer you to somebody who does.

I'm Stu.... "SMM Associates" is my business. There used to be an underscore in there, but trying to explain that to people in the mid-80's was kinda rough, so it went away.

(And I'm still trying to figure out where Steve went....)

I'm handling the new members forum, and Sammy, the Jack Russell Terrorist is handling new member discipline.

(He thinks he's a 200# Rott, and I'm afraid to tell him otherwise.)

I've been carrying for about 42 years. Semi-retired rent-a-cop, computer guy, and a few other things my wife doesn't understand. Sherri and I just moved in with my mom - she'll be 95 shortly - and Sammy is protecting her from us, or vice versa. Our daughter Becka (mom's fifth grandkid) just graduated from nursing school. I can now afford enough electricity to use a computer that's not pedal powered....

Generally, I've got an opinion on about anything, and tend to run off at the keyboard about it, too, but I'm not likely to be argumentative.

(Becka gave us Sammy.... Someday I'll get even....)

Anyway, enjoy!

Stu

Smead:

I used to hang with a girl named "Smead" locally.... Her dad sold used cars.... Hm....

Don't tell Skip, but I don't have a black rifle either. My daughter's boyfriend does, though, but she's not happy - she wanted something from the jewelry store instead :D.

Regards,

Stu

In my case, a long time ago....

I lost track of the girl after graduating from High School, sometime right after the invention of fire.

We were both about 18, give or take....

Hi all, Kevin here.

Former US Navy Surface Warfare Officer who currently provides weapons systems expertise for US Air Force weapons sales to allied & friendly nations' AIr force's abroad at Wright-Patterson AFB via the Foreign Military Sales program.

I am mostly kept busy with my little boy & girl, labrador, 2 cats (unfortunately) and my wife who runs the ship and makes sure I "turn to."

My primary firearms interest is concealed carry rights expansion in OH & increased CC reciprocity as I travel frequently all-around the United States. I have also been known to hunt upland game birds and whitetails. I like trap & skeet shotgunning & punching .45 of an inch holes in targets too! I have mostly modern designed weapons in my collection and would like to expand into the guns that "Won the West," and a few competition 1911s for single stack competitions. I compete USPSA now & then - but, mainly just to have fun.

Hello, Dan here.

I am a member and volunteer for all those orgs in my signature. That of course includes the BFA. I am a hunting nut. Nothing makes me much happier than sitting on stand waiting for the deer to put on a show for me. I also camp and fish. I am a bit of a survivalist as a hobby. I have no problems grabbing the pack and disappearing into the woods for a few days on a morel mushroom hunt.

My gun interests are vast. I enjoy them all. I grew up in a very large family filled with uncles and cousins that have scratched virtually every firearm collection itch that you can imagine. I have probably operated more guns than most people will handle in their lifetime. My weapon of choice is a pump action 12 gauge hands down. I also like black powder, the antiques, fine hunting arms, anything unusual and modern combat weaponry. I am a crossbow enthusiast as well. 2A isn't just about guns for me.

I want complete restoration of 2A in it's literal sense. Open carry, concealed carry, constitutional carry should not be things in question in the first place. I follow the Uncle Ted philosophy. To "keep" means it's mine and you can't have it. To "bear" means I have some on me. What part of "shall not be infringed" do you not understand?

Hello, and welcome!

Live, teach, hunt and fish in the Newark area.

Can someone tell me how I can change the colors, bolding, whatever so I can more easily tell what subjects I have read, and what I have not?

It is very difficult to differentiate the two.

Thanks.

Read subjects are gray. Unread subjects are red.
For the color challenged: In the Board index menu at the top of each page is a text menu to the right. There you will find "View unread posts | View new posts"

The View unread option will display everything you have not read on the same page.

Thanks for the info!

Actually, it's not the subjects which are red/gray, but the indicator to the left of the subject/title.

Then of course you have the bolded/non-bolded titles...?
