Post subject: FBI Surveillance Van 2

This past Thursday I was able to meet my wife for lunch; figured since I haven't had any chest pains for a while I get a Romanburger at Mr Hero in Canton.

My phone wasn't connecting to their wifi. I checked available wifi's in the area thinking they changed their info or something.

FBI Surveillance Van 2 would pop up then disappear about every 45 seconds. This went on for a good 3 minutes. It showed good signal strength and the secure settings weren't the normal WPA and such. I thought about trying to logon to it for less than a second. Decided against it.

Wish I could find a way to do screen snap shots on my android. I showed my wife and she was real supportive, "what did you do this time?"

Thought it was interesting so decided to post.

There are dozens of screencap apps in the android app stores.

Most likely someone thought it would be funny thing to name their wifi connection.

Agree probably someone thought it was funny to name their wifi that.

I mean come on, give the FBI a little credit even they wouldn't be that obvious...?

names like this, and many others are used a lot by amateurs who set u their systems
it is a attempt to scare away people from trying to log into their system

it is also a "impersonation of law enforcement"
sometimes pranksters use it in public arias to stir up commotion
these pranksters are generally called "trolls" in the Tec community

Not legally - at least, not the way I read ORC 2921.51

I was in Mt Gilead on my laptop in my truck a few months ago and saw "FBI Surveillance Van 1" listed on available networks. I'm with the others that say it's probably just someone that thought of a funny name for their network. BUT, to be perfectly honest, I was looking in my mirrors for a white van with a guy drinking coffee.

I did have a black Excursion follow me for a couple blocks, but doubt the FBI would have fancy chromed 24 inch rims; plus as long as they come to my door in street clothes there's nothing to worry about.
