Post subject: A hunting riddle

This can be answered by stating the moral of the story.

A man was out doing some winter hunting. He aimed his gun carefully and fired. Seconds later, he realized his mistake. Minutes later, he was dead.

And the moral is?

the scenario i am thinking of would be more of a colorado repecusion than an ohio reprecusion
