Post subject: Stamp your cash – Responsible Gun Owner

I'm interested in honest opinions from the type of folks that hang out in places like this. First, I am in no way shape or form affiliated with the company that makes and sells these stamps nor the USCCA. I just firmly believe in my right to protect myself and I’m no longer going to be silent about it.

How do you feel about paying with cash you have stamped “Responsible Gun Owner”. The point is to make retailers aware of the amount of money we spend and the potential impact / loss of revenue by alienating responsible gun owners. It also serves as another way for us to show support for our rights without calling for a boycott. Yes that money will change hands. The more it does the more people become aware. At the very least it might annoy a liberal and what is wrong with that?

Joe:

I don't think so....

I'm not sure I'd want to use that stamp either. The cashiers may not understand it or worse panic.... One way to turn a comfortable place into a CPZ....

There's a sticky at http://forums.buckeyefirearms.org/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=10097 that you should have a look at. It's not mandatory and may be sleep inducing. But you may find out who the little dog in my avatar is.

Thanks for the post BTW. It does raise some interesting questions. And I'm sure you'll find a few more answers here.

It is legal.
http://www.wheresgeorge.com has been around for quite awhile.

The law defines 'illegal' defacement as defacement that renders bills unfit to be re-issued.
For the legal details from the U.S. Bureau of Engraving and Printing

Coincidentally I just today noticed I have a "Where's George" stamped $10.
Curios... I was once told there are no coincidences... hummm

Cash changes hands a lot. If a cashier responds in a negative sort of way well then...

My experience so far... It seems that most people notice it but quickly dismiss it.
The machine at the Meijer near me will not read the bills while the Kroger's (more than one) in my area read the bills fine.

In additoin to stamping my cash, I'm going to begin to run a yellow highlighter over "In GOD We Trust"

I find it makes a more lasting impression to just origami my money into miniature guns. ;)
