Im not really sure what can be done about the problem of illegal's (or what ever PR label we're giving them these days)
As we see going on now the influx far exceeds anything we can handle.. some aren't even trying to avoid being picked up but in fact embrace it as if waiting to be rescued.

We can't afford to house and feed the ones coming in, we can't toss them in prison.. we can't execute them.
The problem has went unchecked for so long that they make up a sizable % of the population.. some pay taxes, vote, etc
Democrats has embraced this as a voting block and this is why you get attitude and outlooks like in the article.

Republicans on the other hand while I agree mostly in principle is squarely on the loosing end of this politically.
If they don't find a clever way of dealing with this it's going to end up burying the GOP, The Hispanic vote is getting stronger every cycle.

It's as easy as
1. Secure the border. (If nothing else, find the old guy that designed the Berlin Wall and hire him)
2. Starting 90 days from the passage of legislation, impose a fine of $1,000,000 per day, per instance upon any company employing an illegal alien, and the same fine on anyone selling to , renting to, or otherwise housing an illegal. (Really want to make sure all illegals are reported, split the fine with the reporting party. 100 illegals over 10 days, you get your 1/2 Billion for reporting them.)
3. Cut off all services, social and otherwise.

Take away all the financial incentive (welfare or pay), eliminate the rat holes (like the apt bldg. a mile north of me) and immediate massive self deportation will commence.

The solution isn't hard...we have to be hard.

Politically though it's a losing hand for the party that tries to implement.. that's the problem.
