Post subject: Has the NICS been weaponized like the IRS?

USA Today reported on Wednesday (1/20/16) that the FBI's national instant check system (NICS) stopped processing appeals of denials of firearms purchases back in October. See: http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nati ... /78752774/. The FBI claims that it stopped processing appeals because it needed the analysts who process appeals to conduct NICS checks for firearm sales due to increasing firearms purchases. But it is an automated system. An examiner is only needed if the check results in a delay. Also, while there are more people purchasing firearms, there are no longer NICS checks completed for those with concealed carry licenses in Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, North Carolina, North Dakota, South Carolina, Texas, Utah, Washington, West Virginia, and Wyoming. If the FBI really wanted to ease the workload on its examiners, it could exempt Ohio's CHL holders from NICS checks that Ohio made NICS compliant on March 23, 2015.

In 2009, NICS denied 71,010 firearms purchases after accusing the purchasers of being federally prohibited from possessing firearms. Between 94.2% and 99.98% of those denials were later found to be false. See: http://www.newsmax.com/JohnLott/bradyla ... id/399967/. That was Obama's first year in office. God only knows how many people the FBI wrongfully denied their right to purchase firearms since then. But at least prior to October 2015, they were able to appeal and eventually purchase a firearm. The only recourse left is to hire an attorney and file a federal lawsuit after paying a $500.00 filing fee.

Will the FBI target NRA members like the IRS targeted the TEA party? Many are calling for the NRA to be declared a terrorist organization. The NRA should being a class action against the FBI.

Federal legislation has just been introduced to remedy BHO's assault on due process. See: https://www.nraila.org/articles/2016042 ... ection-act. And See: https://www.congress.gov/114/bills/hr49 ... 4980ih.pdf.
