If you have a approved chl I think you should be able to bypass the ncis backgrown check. I'm tired of getting delayed with having a upin number.

Well, with the new law that took effect last march, any licenses issued or renewed have a NICS check done as a part of the license. That means the ATF *could* put Ohio on the list of states that can bypass the NICS check when buying a firearm from a dealer. However, it doesn't seem likely that will happen anytime soon.

Just IMHO, ATF would like to put all of us on the "NO" list....

(As would most Federal Agencies kissing Zero's behind....)

But the NICS needs to keep the Appeal Team analysts busy checking and double checking your UPIN to make sure that it really is the number that you put on the form so that those analysts don't go back to processing all of the erroneous denial decisions. How else are they going to keep their political enemies from purchasing firearms.

So would the ATF have to add Ohio to the list of states that will allow to purchase without delay of a background check or is that in the hands of the state?

You are lucky that you only have to wait three days. NICS stopped processing UPIN applications when they stopped processing appeals of their denials in October.
