this is a link covering a practice of ohio voters being wiped from being able to vote

reuters, a world news organization is the one reporting, so i'd have to say it's kind of a big deal

I'm not going to check all of the other 85 counties but in the case of my ex-home county, Summit, it's possible to check your status online. (Or anyone else you have a last name of)

My last wife is still registered and living in the same location as far as the Summit Co. BOE knows.

Here's the Summit Co. voter lookup page

The same is true of Portage County.

For Cuyahoga County you need to know last name and birth date.

Just check your county board of elections.

According to the article, you can be removed if you haven't voted in over 6 years and ignored a postcard sent to your registered mailing address. Given when the purges happen, that would mean missing two presidential elections and a national midterm election, plus three state & local elections and a bunch of primaries.

Is that reasonable? I don't know. Is it a bit aggressive? Perhaps. But clearly, voting isn't important to you if that is the case.

Well, that gives dead people at least 6 years to decide to vote with an absentee ballot.
