Good news to report! Thanks to our outstanding legal counsel, the case against the Health Care Freedom Amendment has been disposed. There were about 150 of us volunteer petitioners who had our petitions pulled out and we were accused of being paid to gather signatures and didn't fill in the section on the last page. We went to Columbus Monday and signed a sworn, notarized statement that we were not nor had ever been paid to gather the signatures. The lawsuit Progress Ohio tried to bring against us was thrown out with a unanimous vote!!!!!!!

We can now turn our attentions to getting the amendment passed in November.

For those of you who have collected signatures in July and August, please turn your petitions in to me as soon as you can. We have people in your area to help out, if I can't get them myself.

Our next step is the campaign, and we will need everyone on board to get this amendment passed. We hope to have two call centers in Franklin County. One up north near 270 and one down in Grandview. We will need help manning the telephone lines reaching out to people letting them know about the amendment and urging them to get out and vote.

We will also have some direct mailings to send out and will need volunteers to help with this.

Most importantly, we will need to raise money to pay for our get out the vote efforts. We plan to do this with direct mail and also through neighborhood parties in our homes reaching out to our friends and neighbors.

We will need more people on board to get this accomplished. Please begin thinking about those of your friends, family and neighbors who would be willing to help us. If we can all bring some more people on board through our personal connections, we should be able to increase our numbers significantly.

Remember to get EVERYONE to vote YES on Issue 3!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dear Dan,

Columbus, OH, August 12, 2011. Today, the Ohio Supreme Court unanimously dismissed a lawsuit seeking to bar Ohioans this November from voting on The Healthcare Freedom Amendment constitutional initiative. That initiative will allow voters to add to the Bill of Rights and, protected in Ohio's Constitution, an individual right to freedom from government mandated health care decisions. The Court ruled that the move by ProgressOhio to throw out the signatures of more than 60,000 voters previously validated by county boards of elections across Ohio was without legal merit or factual support.

"We are gratified that this decision vindicates the commitment of our volunteer circulators and the decisions of hundreds of thousands of Ohio citizens who signed this petition to entrust personal health care choices to the votes of the affected individuals and families in Ohio rather than the arbitrary dictates of distant politicians and bureaucracies" said Alan Witten, treasurer for The Ohio Project committee representing more than 4000 volunteers who gathered more than 440,000 of the petition signatures that were submitted to the Secretary of State in early July.

Jason Mihalick, also a committee member, added, "We, the volunteers that worked tirelessly during the days, nights, and weekends for the last sixteen months to bring this issue to the ballot, will now turn our complete focus onto the campaign efforts to ensure the passage of this amendment in November. Ohioans for Healthcare Freedom, the campaign arm of this effort, will have the full support and might of thousands of volunteers that have resolved to see this project through to successful completion. We will work to rally voters to the polls in November to vote YES on Issue 3 and thereby send a clear message that no bureaucrat at the state or federal level will tell us what insurance to buy, when or if to buy it, or will limit our freedom to choose healthcare any more than what they already have."

Ohioans for Healthcare Freedom

Ohioans for Healthcare Freedom is the organization that is managing the campaign for passing the Health Care Freedom Amendment in November. Get involved now at the campaign website, or donate to the cause. Just like gathering signatures, the success of the campaign will be completely up to patriots like you to get involved and finish the job that we started 14 months ago when we drew a line in the sand and said "No mandated healthcare!" and "We will protect and defend our freedom to choose!"

The timing of getting issue 3 couldn't be any worse. With all the union folks showing up to destroy issue 2, I have a feeling they'll just complete the Socialism vote and destroy issue 3 as well. Oh well, once the union folks have gone home with their "rights" to hold the taxpayer hostage intact, we can try and get issue 3 on next November's ballot.

it works both ways.... you could say having the healthcare amendment on the ballot will energize the tea party, libertarian, center right to show up to the polls, ...who will then get a chance to vote on the SB5 issue as well... in fact some on the left have susepcted that was the driving force behind the ohio project - get a catalyst to bring out voters who will go against the union SB5 issue..
