LOL.

What's teh advantage of having it mount on ar15 lower?

  • If you can't hit the broad side of a barn, You're not using enough bullets.
  • Zombies are the Trash-men of Humanity.

The TAC-15 was released in 2009. So, nothing new about it. The not so obvious advantage is, that at the time, it was the fastest crossbow on the market. It also obviously has the same form factor as the rifle you put it on. It incorporates the rifle's trigger group with no changes to trigger weight. Whatever you've done to your AR lower it incorporates with the crossbow upper. Collapsible stock etc.

If you like the familiarity of AR function then this was the upper to buy if you wanted a crossbow. It was very popular at the time but the price point of the thing kept it out of a lot of hunter's hands. There are a couple of faster bows on the market now and they are a lot less unwieldy than the TAC-15 for roughly the same price.

I thought this was a wild innovation for the AR but I am not sure if it ever went into production. Can you imagine the look on the game warden's face? Somewhere between shock and disgust I am guessing.
