I carry a Surefire G2X Pro on my person, and keep a 4D Maglight with an LED conversion head in between the driver's seat and center console of my Jeep.

I carry an EagleTac P100C2. Really like it, especially for the money ($40). Here is more info on it: http://www.illuminationgear.com/14322/142571.html.

Streamlight Ministream. One AAA battery, LED bulb, bright enough to find my black dog at the back 40 at night. Lightweight, you forget you have it, and only $25. Carried clipped on the weak side pocket. The Zippo is in the strong side pocket.

I carry a Surefire 6P LED Defender...

I also carry a Leatherman "Core" multi-tool

They both fit nicely in a Forbus 6900SF paddle holder on my left hip.

On my right hip is my Beretta 92FS w/Laser Sight.

Two Lights for me. A mag-light & a cheap led light I got from the gas station. Both are above 40 lumans ... enough to blind/disorient an assailant for 5-8 seconds in low light. The small maglight doubles as a close combat defense tool as well.

Ultrafire 130b 220lums (mfg.. probably closer to 180), Runs on a cr123 (I use trustfire batteries)

Got it from deal extreme, paid about 12 bucks.. They have multi mode model but I went with simple on/off one which is a few bucks cheaper and I didn't wanna fiddle with the tail switch getting the mode i wanted.

Fit's perfectly in my watch pocket and is pretty bright for it's size.

I also have one mounted on my hi-point carbine.

Run time is about 30-35 minutes of bright light.. and then it ramps down from there so it's not much for endurance but it's small and bright so you gotta make some trade off's.
Perfect for carry when you need only occasional light.. If I needed light for hours and hours a multi mode one with lower settings OR a larger flash light would be better.

I also have one of ultrafires 502 models.. that is a fantastic flash light for the money, bright, and the 18650's last about 2 1/2 hours on full on bright. fit's the hand good, well balanced light but I like the a30 for carry cause it's so small and still very bright.

Surefire L2D LED Defender

http://www.surefire.com/E2DL

Sits in my weak side front pocket right next to my wallet. Wallet keeps it propped up vertical. I can very easily draw my gun and light simultaneously.

If I could only figure out how to fit one of these next to my wallet.

I also carry one of these, and I frickin' love it.

http://www.countycomm.com/aaastainless.html

At 2.7" I can carry it everywhere, and do. It's crazy bright with three settings. Its only shortcoming is in the "tactical blinding ray" category, which it can do, but it is energized by turning the bezel.

Field trials? It has been daily played with by a 10 month old girl & carried by me for 4 months, including my daughter covertly dropping it in to my coffee one morning. :D

Let's know what we're talking about here, ideas have consequences.

The LED alone can run $17 at Lowes. I did this upgrade to one of mine but also bought a whole new 3D LED already installed for about $25. IMO, the one with the LED already installed has a much better beam pattern throughout its focus range. Don't know if they improved the reflector or what???

hmm,...could be the optics/lens. and the maglight still requires the large heavy batteries, ...but then again it's better suited as a club than the smaller tac lights!

FYI: The bodies on the newer ones are not as thick as the old ones (30 years) - may not hold up as well. You can actually feel the difference when you hold them. The upgrade I did was not on the old one but a unit I purchased just before the LED's had came out.
