(As I mentioned elsewhere, I only have two cats. They're both three too many, so I guess that counts

. My wife has a girlfriend who had thirteen cats for a while, but about half went with her ex-husband when they split. I have a sister with about six dogs if that counts

.)
We have a few Open Carry folks here. I'm not into it at all, but I really like the idea that if I print or otherwise get the attention of one of Toby Hoover's posse, I'm legal....
However, the current rules on
unlicensed Open Carry will really stick it to you. Basically, you need to totally "safe" the weapon
outside of your vehicle before getting in, and load up
outside the vehicle before carrying it. Talk about "open" carry....
Unless you can't qualify for a CHL (it's a "
license", not a "permit"), getting the license is more of a slightly expensive PITA than anything else. Meantime, we can use the counts, too.
The 4473 thing is a minor convenience, IMHO. It does help in certain out-of-state things, too, but I think it's a nit-pick v.s. OH's previous background checking procedures.
Mostly, the idea of a guy with an AK or AR slung over his shoulder at the mall really bothers me. Not because I mind the presence of the weapon, but because it sort of tweaks the nose of the folks who do....
(Somewhere out there are a bunch of little old ladies who can't sleep because they're afraid that somebody, somewhere, is having fun....)
