Hi, just joined. I have recently acquired my first gun and Ohio CCW. Hoping to get some answers here. I am trying to find out what are the best states licenses to apply for. Sure this has been discussed. Any ideas or links will be appreciated. Thx!

Stormwarnin':

Welcome Aboard!

I usually try to drop a welcome message on new folks, but somehow the board's software didn't tell me about you.

(Or, I was asleep. I'm old....)

Anyway, there's a sticky referenced in the "Forum Rules" masthead at the top of this page. You probably should read the first couple pages. If you're still conscious, maybe a bit more :D.... It's not mandatory, but you'll learn who the little dog in my avatar is :D....

Lots of discussion on other states.... PA, if you're close enough to take the drive, is all but automatic. That'll add TX and a couple of other states. (PA used to allow mail-order, but changed the rules. I'm all but IN Pennsylvania.)

FL and Utah seem to be the second choices, but I could be wrong - things seem to change regularly. Several years ago, I'd advise NH, because it was $25 or thereabouts and mail-order, but they upped it to $100 and I lost interest. :)

I don't know why you didn't see any more responses by now - not everybody reads this section, though. If you don't hear from somebody else, try leaving a similar request in the "CHL Chat" section, or one of the others.

Regards,

Stu

Hey everyone, moved to the Columbus area about 9 months ago from PA. Looking to make friends and learn about our rights as Americans.

Manny:

Welcome Aboard!

Please have a look at my note to Stormwarnin in the message just prior to yours.

(I was in Columbus a couple weeks ago. Didn't see you :D....)

IAC, don't be afraid to jump in with questions or answers. To some extent, we're teaching each other. The CHL law is full of tricks & traps, and sometimes we need to find out about things. Usually, asking the local Law Enforcement people almost always will generate an error.

Meantime, although our purpose is deadly serious, we try to keep things light when possible.

Enjoy!

Morning. Hope to join in on a few topics later. As the name implies I'm a senior citizen, been a
gun nut since the middle 1950's so I guess that makes me old school.
enough on me for now.

Welcome Aboard!

(Please see my note to Stormwarnin, above, for boilerplate :D.)

I think you're older than me. Probably a rule about that someplace, though, so don't say too much  . Late 60's for me, although I couldn't pass a shooting gallery when I was a lot younger.

IAC, Enjoy!

Regards,

Stu

Hi Everyone,
This is my first time on any forum. I do not know if I am doing this correctly yet. I have a long resume, and I am a BFA Member. Anyone know when I should receive my Buckeye Bash tickets. Purchased two a while back and have not heard anything.

You appear to be doing everything correctly.... (Probably a rule against that someplace, but I'll forget to look.) Just don't be afraid to jump in with questions or comments. DO have a look at the date on the latest post in the thread, though - unless you have something earth-shattering to add, it may be a little late :D....

Can't help you on the Bash tickets, but I think "soon" is applicable. Hopefully somebody will notice.

Regards,

Stu

Normally you print the tickets when you purchase them. Was your card charged?

Got an email from Dean Rieck. Tickets will be mailed in a few weeks, closer to the event. Thanks Dean. My wife and I are looking forward to it.
