Hello folks. Checking in and checking this board out.
I'm a relatively new gun owner and had my CCW for only a year. I had no interest in owning a gun until they told me I was a bad person if I owned one. I decided to make a personal statement and get training and my ccw and write my representatives. I like to go shooting with my cuz in the Arizona desert near Phoenix area. I like to tour the US on my motorcycle with my wife. I retired a year and a half ago. Lots of spare time for scoot and shoot.

Welcome Aboard!

Don't forget to have a look at the sticky referenced in the 'Forum Rules" masthead at the top of this page. Nothing mandatory, though....

Enjoy!

Funny what motivates us, isn't it? I made my first handgun purchase on the very eve of the Brady Law going into effect in 1994. I owned a couple of long guns, as well as a handgun that had been given to me by my father-in-law, but for them to say that I had to have a criminal background check performed and endure a waiting period to legally purchase a handgun was just too much. So, the wife and I headed down to a local gun shop on Sunday, February 27, 1994 and walked out the door with a Ruger P89 and a couple of boxes of 9mm ammo.

Of course, I've since purchased firearms from dealers and have had those very checks performed, and endured the waiting period on more than one occasion - but it was the principle of the thing, that I am no different today than I will be tomorrow, and yet tomorrow I will have to prove I am not a criminal.

Anyway, forgive the long-winded post (I do that upon occasion) and welcome to the forum!
