Hello From a California Escapee!

Post by franklyfresh » Wed Mar 25, 2015 1:12 pm

Hi,

My name is Frank and I recently moved to Cincinnati from good 'ole California. I have been here since January and have been taking full advantage of my new found firearm freedom! Still trying to get rid of my 10-round limited capacity magazines

Glad to be here in Ohio, looks like a great online community.

Welcome! Besides paperweights, there are other good uses for those low capacity magazines. They are just fine for IDPA matches since that's the maximum number you're allowed to load, by the game's rules.

Or you could paint the base plates a different color for positive ID, throw some weight inside the things, and use them for practicing magazine changes during dry fire sessions. (You won't care as much about letting those hit the floor/hard ground.)

Welcome to Ohio!

If you end up voting in Ohio, please discard any latent California voting tendencies so that you don't inadvertently infect Ohio with the California disease.

Frank:

Welcome Aboard!

I'm sort of the official greeter, but somehow missed your entrance. Then, when I found it, the cat wouldn't let me use the laptop and....

This time, the junk desktop froze. I blame that on Bob the Frog....

There's a sticky referenced in the "Forum Rules" masthead on the top of this page. You should have a look at it, but it's not mandatory. It will explain who that little dog in my avatar is, and about the cats here. (Duke got a haircut. I can't describe how silly he looks now. He won't let me take a picture - he's afraid of himself .)

In any event, ENJOY!

Regards,
Stu

Thank you all for the warm welcome. I moved here in January with 3 handguns and barely 4 months in I have added 6 new guns to my safe. I've made a couple face to face transactions and I felt spoiled silly when I realized I didn't have to pay an FFL, fill out multiple forms, pass a background check, wait 10 days, and make two trips in order to buy a handgun. Being able to transport firearms without having to worry about the convoluted laws is also a real nice change.

We're also "shall issue" for concealed carry licenses. You should look into that.
