Hello everyone! I'm live in the burbs of Cleveland and have to say what a great site for the latest and greatest news for CCW holders. I have had my permit for a couple years now. I carry a S&W M&P Shield .40.

I do not know if this question should be posted in my intro, but I'm traveling to Hilton Head, SC this weekend and was wondering if I could carry through the reciprocal states that include WV,VA,NC, and SC. Am I able to conceal all the way down to my vacation destination?

Short answer: Yes.

Long answer: Go to www.handgunlaw.us and research the specific laws of each state and make sure you understand where you can and can't carry, whether or not you must notify LEO if stopped, etc.

Captain Juice:

Welcome Aboard!

JustaShooter got it right....

However, there are some states that just (03/25, I think) that just agreed to honor OH, and some need you to have been licensed (or renewed) after that date....

There's a sticky referenced in the "Forum Rules" masthead on this page. You should have a look at it, but it's not mandatory. It probably will be sleep-inducing, though :D.

Have a good trip!

(And don't be a stranger.)

Regards,

Stu

GA just started recognizing the OH license, but none of the states that require a license issued or renewed on or after March 23 are between here and there (those would be TX and WI) so should be good to go.

Hey thanks everyone for your valuable input and the warm welcome. I did read and it does look like I'm good to go. I guess I'll find out if I happen to get pulled over and state my case. Time to hit the road now and I'll catch up when I return back to the Buckeye!
