  • ATF Stamp for SBR

Has anyone gone through the process to get an ATF Stamp for a short barreled rifle? How long did it take? Pros or Cons?

Few people are filing for SBR's these days with the designation of these rifle platform "handguns" with an arm brace being legal to purchase without the ATF hoops to jump through... why bother with the SBR. If you are going to pay the Feds a $200 tax stamp on something, get a machine gun! I know someone who has transferrable S&W76 9mm subguns that are new builds. I think they are 7k and he only has 13 or 14 left.
Hence it is, that democracies have ever been found incompatible with personal security or the rights of property; and have, in general, been as short in their lives as they have been violent in their deaths. James Madison, Federalist Paper No 10

I did mine years ago for a surpressor under Obama reign and it took 11 months to clear. The time was cut down but not likely anymore with all the panick buying of gun owner. Personally I would not apply for one, with the current administration looking to go after gun owners, (tin foil time) I would not be surprised if the use the records to go after us.
