Aloha from the state with the toughest gun laws in the country. I've been a member of Buckeye for awhile and wanted to reintroduce myself. II am so impressed with this website and the impact it makes on legislation in Oahio. If I had the time I'd start a site like this in Hawaii in hopes of getting some of the laws here changed.

Whoever started this site - Thank you

Hi. I just recently applied for my CCW so have not received it yet. Been about 3 weeks. Live in Richland county, so the process was quite easy. Just moved here from Chicagoland so at least I can get one. Since I had a stroke a couple of years ago, it left me pretty much crippled. I can walk with the aid of a cane, but running away from trouble is not an option. Nor is fighting since my right arm is now pretty weak. I used to teach and repair computers. But you guessed it, I am retired. To help me I have a retired greyhound.

If I didn't nail you guys before, Welcome Aboard.

There's a sticky at http://forums.buckeyefirearms.org/vi...hp?f=6&t=10097 that you should have a look at, but it's not mandatory. Probably painful, too....

I think it was intended that you post an "Hello" in the thread noted at the top of this thread, but wth, we'll take what we can get.

        Enjoy!

I have had this website bookmarked in my favorites list for some time, monitoring for legistative news that I needed to respond to and get the latest news for events, training and status of Ohio gun laws. I really appreciate the effort demonstrated to keep this an informative site and the input of its members. There is a wealth of information here concerning the seriousness of weapon ownership and concealed carry. I am a strong supporter of the Bill of Rights and I see them being abused almost every day so any way I can join the efforts to defend them, I will.

A little background, my wife and I currently live in Franklin, Ohio which is just south of Dayton. I joined the Air Force in Jan 1968 and retired in Feb 1988 after a very good career as an electronics intelligence specialist. I was on flying status with the RC-135 program for nine years where I earned nine Air Medals after 3,000 flying hours. I was stationed at Ft. Meade, Maryland, 2 tours to England, Omaha, Nebraska, Shemya, Alaska, Okinawa, Japan. After I retired, I went to work repairing word processors, fax machines and eventually I repaired and maintained copy machines. I have an Associates Degree in Communications, Associates in Electronics and a Bachelors of Science in Organizational Management.

This year my wife and I decided that it would be best for me to hang up my spurs and completely retire. I have since put in my paperwork to become a volunteer at the Retiree Services branch at Wright Patterson AFB and also at the National Museum of the Air Force. Gotta keep busy.

Well, that is about enough to bore you with. I am looking forward to a long association with this group and all that it provides. Hopefully, I will be able to provide some input also.

I see you were able to get back in....

IAC, Welcome Aboard, and thank you for your service, too.

Now, if you want to get bored, there's a sticky at http://forums.buckeyefirearms.org/vi...hp?f=6&t=10097 that will likely bore you, too. It's not mandatory, but it will give you some idea of what's going on there.

Just about the time I was handling your problem logging in earlier, I was on the phone with a buddy who spent several years in the Air Force in Supply. He was an Officer - I forget what rank - and used to fly with the guys at the end of the month as they tried to use up their last month's fuel allocations. I wasn't here, and I didn't say that ....

My late father was in the Army Air Corps for all of WWII, and then back again in the Air Force for a good chunk of Korea. He was a medic the first time, and got pulled back in as a Dentist later. They needed medical and dental people badly enough to ignore something like 5 years service.

The Dayton gigs ought to keep you busy. I'm pretty much retired myself (rent-a-cop and computer guy), but keep busy mucking up the BFA board .

(When Sammy and the little attack cats will let me....)

            Enjoy!

Okay, kinda late reply to an older post, but I must say I agree with you that the USAF Museum is something you almost need 2 days to visit to get the full experience. My Uncle (who will be 90 in Dec) was a tail-gunner in a B-17 and his plane was shot down, his leg badly injured (landing on a weather van on a German barn) and he was a POW for some months. We take him there every August during church camp in Springfield. He loves seeming the B-17 each time and the short trip through the POW area.

Any, this should be a "hello" post, though I've been a member for a while, have mainly just lurked and researched. I'm out of Dayton (obviously) and do knew a little about WPAFB, but couldn't tell you if I work out of there on occasion, if you get my drift. I'm old fart Viet Vet, and one who appreciates organizations that help the 2A cause.
