Ban on "Assault Weapons"

Post by johnsoda » Thu Jul 23, 2009 11:02 pm

Since the deservedly infamous "Assault Weapons" Ban has come up, I'd like to share a letter that was sent to every member of Ohio's U.S. Congressional delegation and our two Senators. While the effect of these unfortunate gun-control measures on our rights as Americans and Ohioans is well-known and is the most important issue, the effect on competitive shooting could also be devastating. While the National Matches are ongoing up at Camp Perry, it's important to realize that many of the firearms used in these matches would be illegal under the various proposed bans. Although such bans are not a priority for the gun-banners at the moment, this may change quickly.

The letter is available in PDF form here.
