New member here: Question about gun sales--

Post by fragonardium » Mon Sep 07, 2015 9:06 am

I understand that this site no longer facilitates the sale of guns.

Is there another local forum (I'm in Columbus) that does allow the posting of a gun for sale?

TIA.

Welcome Aboard!

(I hope you're not here just to try to sell a gun....)

There's a sticky at viewtopic.php?f=6&t=10097 that you should have a look at, but it's not mandatory, and may be sleep-inducing. No need to go past the first few pages.

Alan's correct. We don't sell guns on this board. Basically, while it's legal, in the event of a lawsuit, we don't really have the money to make a proper defense v.s. using the money for something more important to the firearms community. So, we don't do it....

Enjoy!

Alan- Thanks for the PM. As it turns out, I listed what I had on Armslist, got 5 responses in 1 hour, guy drove over from Dayton and bought it.

In Massachusetts, you cannot buy guns and participate in gun selling unless you own Class A, Class B license. And to get the license one has to go through NRA certified firearms safety training classes.
Get firearms safety training online from an NRA certified school.

Which is one reason why most of us that DON'T live in Massachusetts (I did for a while) pity those that do.

I know of a local church that will buy your gun for a $100 gift card to the their food bank.
