Shotgun for my son't birthday

Post by NEOhioer » Thu Mar 09, 2017 6:43 pm

Hello..
My son will be turning 10 in less than a month and I plan on getting him his first shotgun and hopefully, hit the youth turkey spring season as well as deer season in the fall.

Obviously, I'm purchasing the weapon for him, but I was wondering is there any stipulations in Ohio law or even the Federal law about me making this purchase for him? Want to make sure I have everything covered and know what to expect when the process occurs.

Thank you for your time and attention..

You're buying the gun for you. You're allowing your son to use it while under your supervision. At no time will you ten year old be allowed to have the gun without you there.
You're good to go.
I just bought my daughter a gen4 Glock 19 for her 15th birthday.
At no time will she have it unsupervised.

When she is of age then she can have it and it becomes "her" gun.
